In 1999 my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer and needed regular visits to hospital for his chemotherapy and as my Mum couldn’t drive and my brother lived in Yorkshire, it was down to me to help and support my mum and dad, but it meant more time off work.
At that time I decided to go back into direct sales to give me the flexibility to look after my children support my mum and dad through this hard time, and pay the mortgage and bills.My dad’s ill health did put pressure on my marriage and my husband left me in 2002 but came back when my dad was given a few months left to live. He died in 2003 and I will always be grateful for the time I had with him in his final years.. In the last few years I have retrained as a beauty therapist and nail technician and I also took a job in an office which I lasted a day at. I just love being my own boss too much!I was delighted when I heard about Jamie Oliver’s latest venture, Jamie at Home, and it didn’t take me long before I signed up as a Consultant when the company launched in March 2009. In just six short months I can’t believe I have come so far and,.
