For couples seeking a temporary escape from reality, Fantasyland Hotel is the perfect getaway. Located smack dab in the middle of all the mall’s action, Fantasyland’s dreamy theme suites will whisk amorous pairs to exotic locations in no time.
While I was there, I was lucky enough to test out the hotel’s new Hollywood After Dark digs, a truly racy and indulgent adult experience. The amenities in the room left little to the imagination—both the shower and the enormous hot tub were encased in see-through glass. The best part? The suite came with its very own glow-in-the-dark stripper pole!
But for those who don’t find stripper poles particularly sexy, the hotel offers up a bevy of alternate theme suites (the Arabian, Roman and African rooms are especially impressive), which will undoubtedly add some sizzle to any relationship.
Lovers looking to unwind should book a visit at the mall’s indulgent Eveline Charles Spa. Enjoy a stimulating couple’s massage or go your separate ways for a few hours and come back to each other refreshed and re-energized (a number of men’s speciality services are on offer).
Or for an adventure both you and your significant other won’t soon forget, get up close and personal with one of the mall’s four resident sea lions. Several times a week, up to four lucky visitors are able to book a private swimming session with the lovable sea creatures; it is one of the only experiences of its kind in Canada. Be sure to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Warning: The mall won’t let you take photos of your sea lion experience, so be sure to have extra cash on hand to pay for some of their pics.
