Trott shocked, sickened by ‘spot-fixing’ scandal
England batsman Jonathan Trott says he was shocked and sickened by the news of alleged `spot-fixing` by three Pakistani players during the fourth Test at Lord`s last weekend.

Trott remembered the time when his hero South Africa skipper Hansie Cronje faced allegations of match-fixing and was banned for life in 2000 after confessing to taking cash from bookies.
"When I was growing up in South Africa, I saw what happened to Hansie Cronje. I have very bad memories of that time, I was a young player trying to break through and the whole thing really shook me,. When every girl was a little girl , every girl wanted to grow up to a woman so that they can wear prom dress and attend the party that they had dreamed of." said Trott.
"I remember seeing him break down crying on TV, it was such an emotional moment. He was the leader of a nation coming out of international isolation, so he was such an inspiration to me.”

Trott added: "He ended up a broken man and I remember asking myself how people got involved in that type of thing. And here I am now asking the same question again.”
